Pusi, the Cat Formerly Known as Mask

Pusi

Patricia Mera wanted an older cat. “They’re not as hyper as kittens,” she said.

Mera found what she was looking for in Mask, a 12-year-old female now known as Pusi.

“She’s so pretty and I like her green eyes,” Mera said.

Pusi is also an accomplished conversationalist, a fact Mera didn’t learn until she took her home from Maddie’s Adoption Center.

“She's loud,” she said. “But that’s OK. She’s a great cat.”

Mera has also found Pusi to be an eager pupil in learning a trick usually associated with dogs.

“She fetches,” Mera said, explaining she trained the cat to chase wadded-up balls of paper, pick them up and bring them back for another toss.

Pusi stays very active, enjoying not just fetching but other forms of play despite her age.

But it’s not all play for Pusi, who enjoys one other well-documented feline pastime.

“She loves to sleep,” Mera said.
